→用于公称直径0.1mm～10.0mm金属线材、双金属线、裸电线、铜、铝及其合金、异型截面导体(接触线等)、复合材料等单向扭转试验检测和双向扭转试验检测。
→检测线材在单向扭转、双向扭转中承受塑性变形的能力及显示线材的表面和内部缺陷。
→观测线材断口形状及缺陷(平的、阶梯行的、斜的、扇形的、带裂缝的、带缩孔的等)。
→观测线材裂层(沿线材扭转条纹出现破坏金属连续性的裂缝或飞刺等)。
→线材单向扭转试验Wire-Simple torsion test(线材绕自身轴线向一个方向均匀旋转360°作为一次扭转，扭转至规定次数或线材断裂)；
→线材双向扭转试验Wire-Reverse torsion test(线材绕自身轴线向一个方向均匀旋转360°作为一次扭转，扭转至规定次数后，向相反方向旋转相同次数或线材断裂)；
